SafetyChain Strengthens Frontline Execution with Workflow Context Carryover, Operator-Focused SPC, and Ignition 8.3 Support

Latest platform enhancements connect cross-functional workflows, simplify how operators interpret process data, and keep pace with Inductive Automation's latest industrial platform.
NOVATO, Calif. – April 2, 2026 – SafetyChain, the leading digital plant management platform for food and beverage manufacturers, today announced a new product release designed to give frontline teams clearer information, faster feedback, and better coordination across departments — from the moment an issue is flagged through to verified resolution.

Dynamic Workflow Context Carryover

A key enhancement is dynamic flow attachment carryover, an expansion of SafetyChain's existing workflow capabilities. When a quality technician identifies a packaging defect and attaches a photo during an inspection, that image now travels automatically to every triggered follow-up task — whether assigned to maintenance, facilities, or another department. Stakeholders pick up exactly where the prior team left off, without hunting through prior records or re-documenting what already happened. Every handoff carries the same context, reducing errors and keeping corrective action moving.

Simplified Operator SPC Views

The release also introduces an updated Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience within mobile forms. Administrators can now configure on-chart spec limits and visual elements so frontline operators see only the performance indicators relevant to their role during production. Supervisors and continuous improvement teams keep access to deeper analytical views. When operators have less noise to sort through, they catch trends earlier, and step in before minor deviations grow into holds or rework.

Ignition 8.3 Compatibility

The release includes an updated module compatible with Ignition 8.3, the latest generation of Inductive Automation's widely used industrial application platform, released in September 2025. Ignition 8.3 introduces improvements in data processing, scalability, and security across connected equipment environments. SafetyChain's updated module works with the 8.3 platform, enabling faster data exchange, broader equipment connectivity, and continuous real-time visibility across production environments as manufacturers upgrade their OT infrastructure.

Connector Upgrade for Scalable Reporting

The latest version also features a major update to SafetyChain’s Power BI Connector, rebuilt on a new framework designed to improve performance, scalability, and reliability. The upgrade enhances how record field data is retrieved; making it easier to work with larger data sets and maintain consistent reporting as operations scale. When users transition from the previous Power BI Connector to the current version, they will need to rebuild their existing queries. This update establishes a more resilient foundation for reporting workflows and ensures compatibility with future updates.
All four enhancements are available on mobile, so operators have current workflows, process data, and equipment connectivity on the floor.
"Our customers needed tighter handoffs between departments, a cleaner signal on the floor, and continued compatibility with the industrial systems running their equipment," said Noah Logan, Chief Customer Officer at SafetyChain. "This release addresses all three. When the right information follows the work, teams respond faster and issues actually get closed."
The new release is available to customers in April 2026. For more information, visit safetychain.com.
