Independent audit confirms security, availability, and confidentiality controls supporting mission-critical food and beverage operations.
Novato, Calif. – February 13, 2026 — SafetyChain Software, the leading digital plant management platform for food and beverage manufacturers, today announced it has successfully completed its SOC 2 Type 2 certification, further validating the company’s ongoing commitment to security, availability, and operational excellence.
The independent audit, conducted by Sensiba LLP, assessed both the design and operating effectiveness of SafetyChain’s internal controls over a six-month review period from May 2025 through October 2025. Evaluated against the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Trust Services Criteria for Security, Availability, and Confidentiality, the review examined how SafetyChain safeguards customer data, maintains system uptime, manages access controls, monitors risk, and responds to potential security events. Unlike a point-in-time assessment, SOC 2 Type 2 certification requires auditors to test whether these controls function consistently in real-world operating conditions over an extended period. The audit concluded that SafetyChain’s controls were not only properly designed, but operated effectively throughout the entire review window.
“Food and beverage plants don’t get to pause for system issues or security concerns,” said Dean Brown, CEO at SafetyChain. “Our customers rely on SafetyChain to be available, secure, and dependable every single day – and this audit validates the way we operate behind the scenes. It shows that the controls we’ve built into the platform aren’t just documented policies, they’re working consistently in real-world conditions.”
For food and beverage manufacturers, digital platforms like SafetyChain sit at the center of daily operations, capturing quality checks, managing compliance records, monitoring production performance, and supporting traceability requirements. When those systems go down or data integrity is compromised, the operational and regulatory consequences can be costly and immediate. Independent validation of security and availability controls provides assurance that these mission-critical workflows are protected and consistently supported. While this certification represents an important milestone, SafetyChain views it as part of a broader, long-term strategy.
“Manufacturers are under increasing pressure to digitize without increasing risk,” added Brown. “Security, uptime, and data integrity can’t be afterthoughts. They have to be engineered into the platform from day one and proven over time. This review reflects the operational standards we hold ourselves to as we continue scaling alongside our customers.”
News of the certification comes just weeks after the company announced a milestone update to its platform, introducing new
Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) capabilities that offer a comprehensive framework for identifying, addressing, and preventing nonconformances across food and beverage operations. Corrective and preventive actions are among the most critical processes for maintaining compliance and protecting product quality in food manufacturing, yet many plants still rely on paper forms and spreadsheets to track investigations, assign follow-ups, and document closure, creating visibility gaps that slow resolution and risk repeat incidents. SafetyChain’s CAPA integration, which was included as part of SafetyChain’s existing package at no additional cost to customers, replaces those fragmented processes with a centralized, digital system that connects every task, record, and approval from issue identification through to verified resolution.
