Since interning in DC as a graduate student I've been drawn to the intersection of food safety and public policy. I use my technical background as a food microbiologist and decades of experience in food safety regulations, outbreaks, and recalls, to help move the food industry beyond compliance. I love seeing the "big picture" and feeling that I can make a positive contribution to the field. I am especially passionate about supporting students and new professionals, challenging them to exercise their critical thinking skills to improve the safety of the food supply.
