SafetyChain Software’s August 28 “FSMA Fridays” to Discuss Building a FSMA-Ready Food Safety Plan

SafetyChain’s monthly online FSMA Fridays series, featuring Dr. David Acheson and The Acheson Group team, will review the key elements and documentation requirements for a FSMA-ready food safety plan

SafetyChain Software, leaders in Food Safety Chain Management Systems that Automate, Streamline & Improve Food Safety and Quality Assurance™ (FSQA), is pleased to announce the topic for its August 28, 2015 FSMA Fridays session: Building a FSMA-Ready Food Safety Plan.

SafetyChain’s FSMA Fridays is an online, interactive forum that helps the food and beverage industry stay up-to-date on FDA’s Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA); examines the impact FSMA rules will have on food safety and quality operations; and provides guidance on how to prepare for FSMA compliance. It is estimated that more than 80 percent of food and beverage companies will have to comply with FSMA.

The popular monthly series, which has attracted more than 2,000 ongoing registrants, features FSMA icon Dr. David Acheson and The Acheson Group’s food safety team, who address pre-submitted and live questions from the audience, on a schedule of FSMA related topics.

The August 28 FSMA Fridays session will discuss:

  • What is the philosophy behind a FSMA Food Safety Plan?
  • I have a HACCP plan – is this good enough?
    • Is HARPC just HACCP spelled wrong?
  • What are the key elements of a FSMA Food Safety Plan?
  • How does environmental monitoring and supply chain risk control fit into the Food Safety Plan?
  • I have most of the material that I need for a FSMA Food Safety Plan but it isn’t all in one plan today – do I need to re-write everything?
  • What will FDA expect in terms of documentation for my Food Safety Plan?
    • What records should I keep?
    • What will FDA be able to see on routine inspections?
  • The team will also answer audience questions live.

As always, the FSMA Fridays session will begin with a general FSMA update from Dr. Acheson.
